For years Musical Theatre Studios have attended dance competitions with limited opportunities in vocal and acting disciplines for students. Musical Theatre groups were forced to compete in the same category as dance groups, often using scoring rubrics that did not consider vocals or storytelling.
Determined to create a competition that truly celebrated the multifaceted artistry of Triple Threat performers, the MTCA Team stepped forward, and MTC the Triple Threat Competition was born. MTC sets the stage for aspiring Triple Threats to demonstrate their talent in all three disciplines: singing, acting, and dancing. True excellence in musical theatre lies in the seamless integration of these art forms, and we are thrilled to provide a platform where these extraordinary talents can thrive and be recognized.
Through the MTC Triple Threat Competition and the MTCA Educational Festival, the MTCA Family of Events provides a platform for education, inspiration, and development, empowering performing art students to reach their full potential.
